Collection: Anna Evans

Originally from the UK, Anna moved to New Zealand as a child, and her earliest memories of the vivid North Auckland landscape have shaped her art. The contrast between England’s rainy skies and New Zealand’s vibrant flora and fauna became a lasting source of inspiration.

Her work focuses on the natural landscapes she grew up around—the turquoise waters of the Okura marine reserve, volcanic cones, and the serene tones of dusk and dawn. Her favourite birds, such as the iridescent Tui, fluttering fantails, and colorful Eastern Rosellas, often appear in her pieces, capturing moments of untouched nature.

Anna imagines these landscapes as they might have been before human influence—solitary, dreamlike scenes alive with the hum of dusk and the buzz of sunrise, as light moves slowly across hillsides and sparkling waterways.

Educated at Elam School of Fine Arts, Anna now lives with her family in the Far North of New Zealand, where her recent works are deeply connected to the region.
