Collection: Robin White

After graduating from the Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 1968, Robin White, made a name for herself through her captivating portrayals of prominent cultural figures, including the renowned poet and performer, Sam Hunt. From 1968 to 1979, her artwork frequently featured a solitary figure standing amidst the breathtaking landscape.

In 1979, Robin White, a devoted follower of the Baha'i faith, relocated to Kiribati in the South Pacific. While facing the challenge of limited art supplies, she embraced printmaking, using woodcuts to portray scenes of everyday life. Robin returned to her homeland of New Zealand in 1999. Robin was appointed Dame Companion of the NZ Order of Merit in 2009 and received an Arts Foundation Laureate Award in 2017.
