Collection: Kathryn Furniss

As a self-taught artist, Kathryn draws inspiration from the Pacific landscapes, wildlife, plants, and native birds. Using acrylic and ink, she creates layered artworks. Starting with loose abstract washes, she gradually adds controlled and detailed brushwork.

Birds play a significant role in Kathryn's art, representing stories and emotions. Shadow birds symbolize the connection between past and present, representing spirits, departed loved ones, or guardians. Upright paddles symbolize protection, while boats and oars represent journeys to faraway places, real or imagined.

Kathryn has had successful exhibitions in New Zealand and internationally over the past 18 years, showcasing her artistic talent and vision.
