Artists in Antarctica, Edited by Patrick Shepherd.

A Celebration of Antarctica's Power to Enspire!

Delve into a collection of paintings, photographs, texts, and musical scores created by Aotearoa New Zealand artists who have ventured to the icy expanse and understand the profound impact Antarctica had upon them. Read about the challenges of creating in such a harsh environment while gaining insights into Antarctic science, nature, and human history through the perspectives of renowned New Zealand creatives.

Antarctic science, nature, and human history, as seen through the creativity of some of New Zealand's most acclaimed artists, composers, and writers; Laurence Aberhart, Nigel Brown, Gareth Farr, Dick Frizzell, Anne Noble, Virginia King, Owen Marshall, Grahame Sydney, Ronnie van Hout, and Phil Dadson.

Gain insight from a foreword by Antarctica New Zealand's CEO, Sarah Williamson, and a chapter contributed by Antarctic arts researcher Dr. Adele Jackson, providing valuable context to Aotearoa New Zealand's deep connection with Antarctica.

Handling & Care

A2 and larger prints, as well as hand-painted artworks, are shipped in sturdy, high-quality art tubes. Each piece is thoroughly checked and securely packed before it leaves our studio.

When opening your tube, please take extra care—prints can be delicate. We recommend taking your artwork straight to your framer and letting them handle it for the best results.

Once your artwork is in your hands, we can’t take responsibility for any damage caused during handling.
